In From The Cold is a spy-fi drama that takes a heightened look at a woman in her 40s finding herself as her daughter leaves the nest.

Working on In From The Cold was an absolute dream. Adam Glass and his second in command, Christopher Barbour, are brilliant and kind creators who choose their team deliberately and delegate in a way that makes every one they’ve chose a bit more sure footed and excited to do everything they can to elevate the show.

I cut the second episode (along with the 6th and the finale), which was shot at the same time as the pilot, cut by Shawn Paper, so it was super fun to be able to find the show with Shawn as we both cut these first two episodes. This process continued as we went from director’s cut, with the inimitable Ami Canaan Mann who I had a synchronicity with that is often striven for but rarely achieved, up through locking. I love the opportunity to be creative and find the musical tone, the graphics, all the little pieces and bits of editorial language that become the show.

The show itself is beautifully rooted in the complex experience of being a woman, of being many women really - truly looking at our infinite nature. It has drama, romance, some darkly comedic moments and kick ass fight scenes. Beyond all that, we also are cutting back and forth from the present day to flashbacks to Moscow in the 90s, so I got to cut scenes in Russian and play with lots of cool 90s music. I can’t wait to be able to share more about this show once it drops next year.
